Edge of Tomorrow (2014) 1st Impressions After Seeing The Movie

***Start_Of_Log***

More from the category of movie that I've seen a couple of months ago, but only now I'm commenting them.

Sorry I kinda forgot that I still have to do posts and this week when by so fast.

Edge of Tomorrow is your basic aliens attack movie and humanity needs to defend themselves from the aliens.

So far I name lots of movies like this, but wait, there's a twist the main protagonist can time travel sort of.

The main guy Cage played by Tom Cruise can time travel by resetting the day when he dies.

And this is somewhat original the whole time loop scenario is often used in fiction the best example that come to my mind is Stargate SG-1's Window of Opportunity and of course Groundhog Day.

The POWER isn't explained very well in the movie when get the basics of it but not the rest.

Like for instance, when he dies, he resets the day, which means he goes back in time 24 hours so if he dies earlier in the day will he go back further in time?

Also, he got this power by killing an Alpha Mimic and bathing in his blood (not in the way you think).

Here's another problem, what if there are more of these 'Alpha' are the other ones aware that the day has rested or do they continue on their normal path.

The Mimics are of course the bad guys of the movie (Duh).

And they are basically like the insects from Starship Troopers loots of drones and one central mind, oh and they are made out of metal some reason.

In order to combat the Mimics the military develops Battle suits which are in facts powered exoskeletons witch look awesome and yeah they aren't mechs.

Like the aspect of them like they were made in a hurry and aren't fully developed.
Also for those of you who are curios they do exist in real life.

In the end all I have to say is that the movie is pretty awesome yeah the time travel method is a bit flawed but they have fun with the concept.

At times it feels like a video game, oh you fail the objective better restart.

I can tell that this movie is fun and kinda funny and start at times, but I can't tell if this it respects the source material.

Edge of Tomorrow was adapted from the novel All You Need Is Kill written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

Wow, I kinda get why they changed the title All You Need Is Kill sound hard to market.

Also the novel was adapted into a manga and there's also GN (Graphic novel) by Viz that adapts the novel.

X-Men Days Of Future Past (2014) 1st Impressions After Seeing The Movie

***Start_Of_Log***

So I saw X-Men Days of Future Past a few days ago (okay, it was a month or so ago, but my laptop was broken) and it was surprisingly good.

And I have to be honest for a moment, I was hopping for it suck.

Hear me out i was hopping that it would suck and Fox would lose the license so that the rights could return to Marvel so that in the end we could get Wolverine and maybe Spiderman in the New Avengers Movie.

Oh, by New Avengers I'm not talking about the next one after the Age of Ultron I mean New Avengers, that's the name of the team, pretty original and surely will stand the mark of time.

Anyway, let's get to the movie I haven't comic yet so I can't tell you if it's a full adaptation well, I know that Wolverine goes go into the past in the comic.

My other experience with the Days Of Future Past story is the X-Man Tas episode of the same name and The Wolverine and The X-men series and i think that they have the most accurate time travel method in this one.

I was a bit sad that they didn't fully adapt the comic, but we've got more Wolvie action which  is always awesome, but then again we didn't get to see Wolverine Vs Sentinel X.

The Sentinels are a very serious threat in the movie.

In my last post about I commented on the design of the Sentinels and I was partially right the prototypes look silly, don't seem very threatening also how the fuck was Magneto controling them again?

The X Sentinels are a horse of a different nature, seeing a photo of them doesn't do them justice they are creepy as fuck and powerful as fuck.

I think that they don't take down a single one in the movie.
Also, they didn't explain to well how were they created like how were they able to weaponize Mystique's powers?

Also, don't say nanites.

Another thing that I don't like is that there was no mention of the events from the 25moments website they seemed important but they aren't mentioned in the movie.
In the end all I have to say is that this movie is awesome and you should see it I will talk again about this movie.

X-Men Days of Future Past (2014) 1st Impressions

***Start_Of_Log***
Hey, I'm finally done with my exams, I pasted some fail others, but for the moment I'm free and that's all that matters.
Hey did any of you saw the trailer to X-Men Days of Future Past ? If you didn't a put a video bellow so you can watch it :).
This trailer is amazing, it got me curios and pretty excited about the movie.
I think that is so good because it doesn't show anything too revealing it's like a mystery.Sure you know the basic plot, but I think that there's more to that then again I've been wrong before.

Happy Holidays from The X Database (2013)

***Start_Of_Log***

Happy Holidays people it's been what some couples of moths since I started this blog and I want to thank you for the support and feedback.

Also I have an important announcement to make I will be taking a short vacation during the Holidays so I can enjoy them. And another vacation for my finals month which starts in January and ends in February.
I will still post reviews besides this I have another one in the works but they will be more rare.

Anyway I decided to do a list with my favorite Christmas Specials.
Please this is a list based on my opinion, and the criteria for this list was things that are Christmas related that bring me joy so sit and enjoy the list.
  •  Gokaiger Christmas Episode (Ep 44)
Gokai Christmas yeah just Gokai Christmas it's so silly that's fun I have nothing more to say.

As much as I like this episode I think that older Toku fans will enjoy it more because of the references to a certain team.

  • South Park Christmas Specials
The South Park Christmas Specials are excellent and I couldn't chose 1 for this list so I put them all.

Although I do have one favorite among the specials ->

  • Batman Noel (2011)
It's basically A Christmas Carol with Batman and his friends/enemies.
Yes it has some problems but it's a fun read it's not like the re-imaging from Doctor Who but it's pretty fun the symbolism is still there and speaking of Doctor Who...
  • Doctor Who Christmas Special
The Doctor Who specials are sometimes fun other times re-imaging of Christmas Classics and on rare occasions they are serious adventures featuring important events from the Doctor's life like regeneration.

Think about it for a minute we got to know 10th in a Christmas Special he also regenerated in a Christmas Special.
I for one I'm very excited about this year's special they talked a lot about Trenzalore in season 7 and there's also the hole 12 regeneration limit oh I can't wait for it.
  • Home Alone (1990)
Yeah it's silly yeah it's dated but when I think of Christmas I think of this movie for some reason maybe because I watched it at a young age and I found it hilarious.

This movie still makes me laugh it's a little less than when I was a kid but that's because I realize how brutal the traps are , god it's kinda painful looking at the robbers getting hurt I think that they are immortal or something.

But nevertheless every time I watch it I get the Christmas spirit yeah beside the funny/horror trap the movie has a strong emotional arc with Kevin and his mom.

I also recommend the second it the same as the 1st one but it's still enjoyable the 3rd it's all about the traps and the convoluted plot and none of the Christmas spirit. The 4th one it's bad no I haven't seen it completely I saw some clips and I heard that it got some bad reviews the 5th one or The Holiday Heist or Home Alone Alone in the Dark it's basically Home Alone done in modern times and it's also bad.

That's all folks Happy Holidays.

The Future Diary / Mirai Nikki (2011-2013) Anime Review

***Start_Of_Log***

Here a review that I didn't thought I do: Future Diary or Mirai Nikki.
I found out about this series by total accident by seeing this image on facebook.
So I thought to myself:"so she is like Lucy from Elfen Lied wow she must be brutal" and also thought they kinda look similar as well so i looked the anime up and found the Wikipedia page and I was intrigued about the concept (witch i 'll explain in a moment) then i found the English dub of it done by Funimation so i gave it a watch and now I'm here making this review.

The concept Future Diary is exactly what is sounds like a diary that can predict the future the name of the show is translated perfectly into English mirai =future and nikki =diary.
I have the English dubbed version with some glimpses on the subbed version i will mostly talk about the dubbed version with some mentions of the sub.
Some lines from original were changed for better or for worst you decide but I have enjoyed the dubbed version.
And BTW the dub version of the show is more pervy than the sub version this blows my mind usually the sub or the original version is balls to the walls while the dub wimps out like a little pussy.

Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox (2013) Review

***Start_Of_Log***

Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox is an adaptation of the Flashpoint event from DC Comics that resulted in the New 52 reboot of the Dc Universe.
I read the original Flashpoint event and it was pretty good but I read it when it was 1st released and unfortunately, i don't remember many details but I do remember the main plot.

According to ComicVine Flashpoint had appeared in 74 issues  and some of those issues were made to explore the world to see you bad thing where in that timeline and there were a few issues called Road to Flashpoint

which sadly are not present in the movie :(
